- ⅔ cup (67 g) cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup (80 ml) vegetable oil
- ½ cup (120 ml) milk
- 2 teaspoons (30 ml) pure vanilla extract
- Green buttercream frosting
- Edible glitter or sprinkles
- Small star-shaped candy or fondant for decoration
- Optional: chocolate or vanilla frosting for additional decorations
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fill cupcake liners about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cupcakes cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Once cooled, use green buttercream frosting to create a Christmas tree swirl on top of each cupcake.
- Decorate with edible glitter, sprinkles, and a small star candy on top.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing. Don’t overbake to keep cupcakes moist. For extra flavor, add chocolate chips to the batter.
