Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula
  • Oven mitts
  • Measuring Cups

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter melted
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped nuts pecans or walnuts
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk 1 can

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures your bars bake evenly and achieve that perfect golden-brown finish.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with the graham cracker crumbs. Stir until the crumbs are fully moistened. Press this mixture into the bottom of your greased 9x13-inch baking pan to form a firm base.
  • Evenly sprinkle the chocolate chips over the graham cracker base, followed by the butterscotch chips. Then, add the shredded coconut and chopped nuts, layering them generously.
  • Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the entire layered mixture. This will bind everything together and create that dreamy texture once baked.
  • Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are bubbly and the top is lightly golden.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. For best results, refrigerate for an hour before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • Don’t pack the graham cracker crust too tightly; it should be firm but not overly compressed.
  • Ensure your oven is fully preheated before baking to guarantee even cooking.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting to prevent them from falling apart.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
