Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Meat Thermometer
  • Baking sheet or plate

Ingredients

  • 3 bone-in chicken thighs
  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 3 dashes black pepper
  • 3 dashes cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Make Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Chicken: A Simple Method

  • Start by patting the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. This will help the skin get crispy in the air fryer.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and lemon juice. Stir until well blended.
  • Add the chicken thighs to the bowl with the marinade. Make sure to coat each piece thoroughly, ensuring the garlic and spices cover every nook and cranny.
  • Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the chicken thighs, pressing it lightly into the skin to help it adhere during cooking.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes. This step is crucial for achieving that perfect crispy exterior.
  • Place the coated chicken thighs in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Cook for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Once cooked, carefully remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes. This will allow the juices to redistribute. Before serving, sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side for a fresh burst of flavor.

Notes

  • Pat chicken dry before air frying to get crispy skin.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking.
  • Let the chicken rest after cooking for juicy results.
  • Adjust cayenne pepper amount to control spiciness.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
