- 4 slices sourdough bread hearty and flavorful base
- 4 slices cheddar cheese or substitute with American, Gruyere, or Gouda
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise adds creaminess and golden crust

Start by laying out your slices of sourdough bread on a clean cutting board.
In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise and softened butter. Mix until well blended.
Spread the mayonnaise-butter mixture on one side of each slice of bread. Place two slices of cheese between two slices of bread, ensuring the spread side is facing out.
