Place the 16 oz mac and cheese balls (fresh premade or frozen) in a single flat layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping. If they won’t fit in one layer, cook in batches.
Air fry for 6 minutes.
Carefully shake the basket or use tongs/spatula to turn/flip the mac and cheese balls so they move around and brown evenly.
Return to the air fryer and continue cooking until browned and starting to burst: cook an additional 6–10 minutes if using fresh premade (or reheating), or an additional 12–15 minutes if cooking from frozen. Times are approximate—look for golden brown color and slight bursting.
While the balls finish cooking or after removing them, warm the 1 cup pizza sauce until heated through (microwave or stovetop).
Remove the mac and cheese balls from the air fryer and let them cool slightly.
Serve the cooled mac and cheese balls with the warmed pizza sauce and a sprinkle of 1 tsp fresh chopped parsley (optional).
