- 3/4 cup seasoned sushi rice
- 1 sheet nori full-size
- 1/3 cup imitation crab meat shredded
- 4 slices avocado thin
- 2 strips cucumber
- 3 ounces sushi-grade salmon thinly sliced
Prepare the Sushi Rice
Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch. Cook the rice according to your rice cooker or pot instructions. Let the rice cool slightly, then mix in rice vinegar, sugar, and salt to season.
Prepare Your Ingredients
Shred the imitation crab meat into fine pieces, slice the avocado thinly, cut the cucumber into long, thin strips, and thinly slice the sushi-grade salmon.
Assemble the Roll
Lay a sheet of nori, shiny side down, on your sushi mat. With wet hands, grab a handful of seasoned sushi rice and spread it evenly over the nori, leaving about an inch at the top edge. Press the rice gently to stick without squishing.
Place shredded imitation crab, avocado slices, cucumber strips, and salmon in the center of the rice-covered nori. Adjust amounts if desired.
Using the sushi mat, carefully lift the edge closest to you and roll it away, pressing gently but firmly to keep it tight. Continue rolling until the edge of the nori without rice is reached. Use water to seal the edge.
With a sharp knife, slice the roll into bite-sized pieces. Wipe the knife with a damp cloth between cuts for clean slices. Arrange and serve.
