Start by seasoning your chicken thighs or breasts with a pinch of salt and pepper on both sides. If you’re using chicken breasts, pound them thin to ensure even cooking.
In a large skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Allow it to cook until it turns golden brown and starts to have a nutty aroma. Be cautious not to burn it!
Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and sear for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice golden color. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, lower the heat and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add the honey and lemon juice, stirring to combine.
Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it thoroughly in the honey garlic sauce. If you prefer a saucier dish, add 2-4 tablespoons of chicken broth at this stage.
If you’re including broccoli, add it to the skillet now. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the broccoli to steam slightly in the sauce.
Plate the chicken and drizzle with any remaining sauce from the skillet. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges for a squeeze of brightness.
