  • 2 large Haas avocados halved, seeded, and scooped
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • Hot sauce to taste
  • 0.5 cup chunky salsa
  • 1 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese divided use
  • 0.5 cup chopped tomato divided use
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Stepwise Method: Avocado Dip

  • Start by halving the Haas avocados, removing the pits, and scooping the flesh into a mixing bowl. Use a fork or potato masher to mash the avocados until they reach your preferred level of creaminess.
  • To the mashed avocados, add the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Mix until the ingredients are well combined and smooth.
  • Sprinkle in the cumin, lime juice, and hot sauce. Mix thoroughly, tasting as you go to adjust the spice level according to your preference.
  • Gently fold in the chunky salsa, half of the shredded cheddar cheese, and half of the chopped tomato. This adds texture and vibrant color to the dip.
  • Taste the dip and season with salt and pepper to your liking. Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl, and top with the remaining cheese, tomatoes, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro for garnish.
