- 4 medium red potatoes
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). A hot oven is essential for achieving that crispy exterior on your fries.
Wash the red potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a clean towel and slice them into fries. Aim for uniform thickness to ensure even cooking.
In a large bowl, combine the sliced potatoes with the olive oil, grated parmesan cheese, dried basil, and garlic powder. Toss everything together until the fries are evenly coated with the oil and seasoning.
Line your baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup (optional). Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the baking sheet, making sure they aren’t overcrowded. This helps them cook evenly and become crispy.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes. Halfway through, flip the fries to ensure they brown evenly. Keep an eye on them towards the end to prevent burning.
Once the fries are golden brown and crispy, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Serve them hot, perhaps with a side of your favorite dipping sauce or enjoy them as they are!
