Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk or fork
  • Measuring spoons and cups
  • Storage container

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp white miso
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp fresh basil chopped (or more)

Instructions

Basil Balsamic Dressing (Oil-Free!) Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients listed above to make the process smooth and quick.
  • In a mixing bowl, add 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar, 1 Tbsp pure maple syrup, 1 Tbsp water, 2 tsp Dijon mustard, and 1 tsp white miso.
  • Minced the garlic and chop the fresh basil. Add them to the mixing bowl.
  • Using a whisk or fork, mix all the ingredients until well combined and smooth. The miso should dissolve completely, creating a creamy texture.
  • Taste your dressing and adjust sweetness with more maple syrup or tanginess with a splash of balsamic vinegar as desired.
  • Pour the dressing into a storage container. Store in the refrigerator for up to a week and shake before using.

Notes

  • Use fresh basil for the best vibrant flavor; dried herbs won't provide the same freshness.
  • Adjust garlic amount to taste; for milder flavor, use half a clove.
  • Do not over-mix to avoid a watery dressing; whisk until just combined.
  • Choose high-quality balsamic vinegar for the best taste.
  • This dressing stores well in the fridge for up to one week; shake before each use.
