Beef

  • 24 ounces Ground Beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil

Cheese

  • 8 slices American Cheese

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Prepare the Ground Beef. Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions, about 3 ounces each.
  • Step 2: Season the Beef. In a mixing bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Sprinkle this seasoning blend over each portion of beef.
  • Step 3: Heat the Skillet. Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the vegetable oil and spread it around to coat the cooking surface.
  • Step 4: Smash the Patties. Place the seasoned beef portions onto the hot skillet and press down firmly on each portion to flatten it.
  • Step 5: Cook Until Crispy. Let the burgers cook without moving them for about 2-3 minutes until they form a crisp, golden crust.
  • Step 6: Add the Cheese. Flip the burgers and immediately place a slice of cheese on each patty. Allow the cheese to melt for about a minute.
  • Step 7: Assemble Your Smash Burgers. Remove the patties from the skillet and place them on a burger bun. Serve with your favorite condiments and toppings.
