Ingredients
  

Liquid Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Water, warmed to 110°F
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons Brown Sugar or Molasses
  • 2 cups Rye Flour
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Caraway Seeds (optional)
  • 2.25 teaspoons Instant Yeast

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients. Gather all your ingredients and ensure the water is warmed to about 110°F (45°C).
  • Step 2: Add Ingredients to Bread Machine. Add the warmed water, olive oil, and brown sugar or molasses to the bread machine pan. Layer in the rye flour and all-purpose flour, then add salt, caraway seeds, and sprinkle the instant yeast on top.
  • Step 3: Set Your Bread Machine. Close the lid, select the whole wheat or rye bread setting, and start the machine.
  • Step 4: Let the Bread Cool. Once baked, remove the pan and let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Step 5: Slice and Enjoy. Once cooled, slice the bread and enjoy with butter or as a sandwich.

Notes

Ensure your yeast is fresh for best results. For a denser bread, reduce the all-purpose flour and increase the rye flour.
