Equipment

  • Broiler
  • Baking Sheet
  • Meat Thermometer
  • Tongs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb petite sirloin steak about 1 inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil to help with browning and prevent sticking
  • McCormick Montreal Steak or Smokehouse Maple seasoning to add depth of flavor

Instructions

Build Broiled Sirloin Step by Step

  • Preheat your oven’s broiler. Position the rack about 4-6 inches from the heating element for optimal cooking.
  • Pat the petite sirloin steak dry with paper towels to achieve a nice crust. Drizzle both sides of the steak with vegetable oil and rub it in evenly.
  • Sprinkle the McCormick Montreal Steak or Smokehouse Maple seasoning liberally over both sides of the steak, pressing gently to adhere.
  • Place the seasoned steak on a baking sheet and broil for 4-5 minutes on one side. Carefully flip with tongs and broil for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare. Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.
  • Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. Aim for 130°F to 135°F for medium-rare. Cook longer if preferred more done.
  • Remove the steak from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.
  • Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure perfect doneness every time.
  • Letting the steak rest after cooking keeps it juicy and tender.
  • Try different seasoning blends or oils to customize the flavor.
  • Space steaks apart on the baking sheet to ensure even cooking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
