- 1 French baguette
- 2 Tbsp melted butter for toasting the bread
- 8 oz cream cheese preferably softened
- 1/4 cup dill finely chopped
- 2 stalks green onion finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic pressed
- 1 avocado
- 1 lemon to keep avocado from browning

Prepare the Garlic Herb Cream Cheese
In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, chopped dill, finely chopped green onions, and pressed garlic. Mix until creamy and well combined. Season with freshly ground black pepper to taste.
Prepare the Avocado
Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a small bowl. Squeeze half of the lemon over the avocado to prevent browning. Mash slightly with a fork, keeping some texture.
- Use firm but ripe avocados for the best texture and flavor in your canapes.
- To keep avocado from browning, be sure to squeeze fresh lemon juice over it and assemble just before serving.
- For dietary variations, substitute cream cheese and butter with vegan or dairy-free alternatives as needed.
