Ingredients
  

For the Dough:

  • 1/2 cup Warm Water at 107-110°F
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 1/2 tablespoon Honey or Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt use less if using table salt
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 1/2 cups Bread Flour

For the Topping:

  • 3 tablespoons Butter melted
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 1/2 cups Mozzarella Cheese shredded
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese freshly grated
  • 1 tablespoon Basil or Parsley freshly chopped
  • 1 cup Pizza Sauce warmed, for dipping

Instructions
 

Prepare the Yeast Mixture

  • Combine 1/2 cup warm water (107-110°F), 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast, and 1/2 tablespoon honey or sugar in a mixing bowl. Let sit 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Mix and Knead the Dough

  • In another bowl, mix 1 teaspoon salt and 1 tablespoon olive oil with the yeast mixture. Gradually add 1 1/2 cups bread flour until a dough forms.
  • Turn dough onto floured surface and knead 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic, adding flour if sticky.

Let Dough Rise

  • Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let rise in warm place about 1 hour until doubled in size.

Prepare the Cheese Mixture

  • Melt 3 tablespoons butter and mix in 2 cloves minced garlic and 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning. Set aside.

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

Roll Out and Add Cheese

  • Punch down risen dough and roll out on floured surface into 1/2 inch thick rectangle.
  • Brush garlic butter over dough, then sprinkle 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella and 1/4 cup grated parmesan evenly on top.

Cut, Shape, and Bake

  • Cut dough into strips or squares, or twist for presentation.
  • Place pieces on baking sheet lined with parchment. Bake 15-20 minutes until golden and cheese is bubbly.

Garnish and Serve

  • Brush remaining garlic butter over baked bread, sprinkle with chopped basil or parsley, and serve warm with pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Make sure your water is at the correct temperature to activate the yeast properly without killing it.
  • If bread flour is unavailable, all-purpose flour can be used but may affect texture slightly.
  • Leftover cheesy bread stores well refrigerated for 3 days or frozen before baking for up to 2 months.
  • Experiment with different cheeses or add toppings like bacon, pepperoni, or veggies for variety.
  • For fluffier bread, knead well and allow the dough to rise fully in a warm environment.
