  • Spatula
  • Baking Dish
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce optional
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 12 ounces lump crab meat drained, approximately three 4 oz cans
  • 2 tablespoons green onion chopped, for garnish
  • 2 medium tomatoes chopped

Instructions

Cheesy Crab Dip: Step-by-Step Guide

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even heating and bubbling.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Mix with a spatula until smooth and creamy without lumps.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, hot sauce (if using), and Old Bay seasoning to enhance the flavor.
  • Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and lump crab meat gently, keeping chunks intact for texture.
  • Spoon the mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading evenly for uniform heating and a golden top.
  • Bake the dish in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until bubbly and lightly golden on top.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Garnish with chopped green onions and diced tomatoes before serving.

Notes

  • Drain crab meat thoroughly to avoid excess moisture in the dip.
  • Customize the cheese blend by adding mozzarella or gouda for new flavors.
  • Adjust or omit hot sauce based on your preferred spice level.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat gently in the oven or microwave, stirring occasionally for even warming.
