Ingredients
  

Canned Cherry Pie Filling

  • 2 cans cherry pie filling 21 oz each

Flavor Enhancers

  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

Cake Base

  • 1 box yellow cake mix 15.25 oz
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter melted

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Step 2: Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  • Step 3: Spread the cherry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • Step 4: Drizzle the almond extract over the cherry filling.
  • Step 5: Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the cherry and almond mixture without mixing.
  • Step 6: Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the cake mix.
  • Step 7: Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top.
  • Step 8: Bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  • Step 9: Let it cool for a few minutes before serving, preferably warm with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For best flavor, use high-quality cherry pie filling. You can also add cinnamon to the cake mix for extra flavor.
