Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Step 2: Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
Step 3: Spread the cherry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Step 4: Drizzle the almond extract over the cherry filling.
Step 5: Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the cherry and almond mixture without mixing.
Step 6: Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the cake mix.
Step 7: Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top.
Step 8: Bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Step 9: Let it cool for a few minutes before serving, preferably warm with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
For best flavor, use high-quality cherry pie filling. You can also add cinnamon to the cake mix for extra flavor.
