Cuisine Italian
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound chicken breast cubed
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 4 large bread bowls
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the cubed chicken breast. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook the chicken pieces for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Step 2: Make the Alfredo Sauce
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned. Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Allow it to reduce slightly for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and thickened. Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
Step 3: Combine Chicken and Sauce
Step 4: Prepare the Bread Bowls
While the sauce is simmering, cut a circular lid from the top of each bread bowl. Hollow out the inside, leaving about a 1-inch thick shell to hold the sauce and chicken. Save the bread you remove for dipping later!
Step 5: Assemble and Serve
- Cook chicken just until opaque to keep it juicy and tender.
- Add Parmesan cheese gradually over low heat to avoid a grainy sauce.
- Hollow out bread bowls thickly to prevent leaking or sogginess.
- Try adding veggies or different cheeses for tasty variations.
- Store leftover sauce and chicken separately to maintain freshness.
