Ingredients

  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.67 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.33 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners.
  • Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Step 3: In a separate large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Step 4: Add vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  • Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Step 6: Fill cupcake liners about two-thirds full with batter.
  • Step 7: Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Step 8: Let the cupcakes cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Step 9: Once cooled, use green buttercream frosting to create a Christmas tree swirl on top of each cupcake.
  • Step 10: Decorate with edible glitter, sprinkles, and a small star candy on top.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing. Don’t overbake to keep cupcakes moist. For extra flavor, add chocolate chips to the batter.
