Equipment

  • Blender or Food Processor
  • Spatula
  • Storage container

Ingredients

  • 1 cup roughly chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice fresh
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon honey (use agave syrup for vegan option)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Gather all ingredients and wash and roughly chop fresh cilantro to make blending easier.
  • In your blender or food processor, combine the chopped cilantro, extra virgin olive oil, lime juice, garlic, honey, and salt.
  • Blend the mixture on medium speed until smooth. Stop and scrape down the sides as needed to ensure everything is well combined.
  • Taste your sauce and adjust sweetness with more honey or agave, and acidity with more lime juice if desired.
  • Transfer the cilantro sauce to a storage container and seal tightly to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, substitute honey with agave syrup.
  • If sauce is too thick, add more olive oil or water to reach desired consistency.
  • To make it spicy, add jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or freeze in ice cube trays for up to 3 months.
