Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 6 tablespoons butter melted (see notes if using salted butter)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions to ensure even cooking and a crispy exterior.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract; whisk until well combined.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir with a spatula until just combined, leaving some lumps.
  • Ladle the batter into the preheated waffle iron, close the lid, and cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
  • Carefully remove the waffles and serve immediately with your favorite toppings such as maple syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Allow waffles to cool completely before freezing to prevent sogginess.
  • Use parchment paper between waffles when freezing to avoid sticking.
  • Store waffles in an airtight container or freezer bag for longer freshness.
  • Reheat frozen waffles in a toaster for a quick and crisp breakfast option.
  • Avoid overmixing the batter to keep waffles light and fluffy.
