  • Oven
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

Brownie Batter

  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Cookie Dough Layer

  • 0.5 cup softened butter
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking and fudgy brownies.
  • Line your 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.

Make Brownie Batter

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Whisk until smooth.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and flour. Gradually add to wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

Bake First Brownie Layer

  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Prepare Cookie Dough Layer

  • While brownies bake, cream together softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Stir in vanilla extract, then gradually add flour and salt, mixing until combined.
  • Finally, stir in milk and mini chocolate chips until cookie dough reaches perfect consistency.

Assemble and Bake Again

  • Once brownies are baked and slightly cooled, spread cookie dough evenly over the top.
  • Spread the remaining brownie batter gently over the cookie dough layer.
  • Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the top layer is set and a toothpick inserted into the brownie portion comes out clean.

Cool and Serve

  • Allow brownies to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes. Use parchment paper overhang to lift out and cut into squares.
  • Enjoy your delicious Cookie Dough Brownies!

Notes

  • Use room temperature ingredients for the best results.
  • Adjust ingredients to make a thicker cookie dough layer if desired.
  • Watch baking time carefully as ovens vary.
  • Add chopped walnuts or pecans for a nutty flavor in the brownie batter.
