Ingredients
  

  • 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts sliced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • turkey bacon optional, cooked and crumbled, for garnish

Instructions
 

Cook the Fettuccine

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes. Drain the pasta and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Prepare the Chicken

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the sliced chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side depending on thickness. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Alfredo Sauce

  • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, but not browned. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Add the softened cream cheese and whisk until smooth and fully incorporated.

Add Cheese and Seasonings

  • Gradually stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and nutmeg. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3-5 minutes. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen it to your desired consistency.

Combine Pasta and Chicken

  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and mix to coat with the Alfredo sauce. Toss in the drained fettuccine and gently stir until every noodle is luxuriously coated. Heat through for a minute or two to marry the flavors.

Garnish and Serve

  • Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the top for a pop of color and freshness. Optionally, add crumbled turkey bacon for an extra layer of smoky flavor and texture. Serve immediately while hot and creamy.

  • Stir in reserved pasta water gradually to adjust sauce consistency without losing creaminess.
  • Slice chicken thinly or flatten thicker slices to ensure even cooking.
  • Reheat leftovers gently with a splash of milk or cream to restore creamy texture.
