Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz cheese tortellini fresh or refrigerated
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs blend of basil, oregano, thyme, and rosemary
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the 12 oz cheese tortellini and cook according to package instructions, usually about 3-5 minutes, until tender but still firm. Drain and set aside. Save a small cup of pasta water for the sauce if needed.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Add minced garlic and sauté gently for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant and golden but not browned.
  • Pour in 1 cup heavy cream to the skillet with garlic. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer. Add 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs, salt, and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Let the cream reduce slightly for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Turn heat to low and gradually stir in 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese. Stir gently until cheese melts fully and sauce thickens. Add reserved pasta water if sauce is too thick.
  • Add cooked tortellini to the skillet with sauce. Toss carefully to coat each piece. Heat through for 1-2 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped parsley over the top. Serve immediately.

  • Burn garlic slowly over moderate heat to prevent bitterness.
