Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Wire Rack
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Tongs
  • Measuring spoons and cups

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings separated into drumettes and flats
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper chili flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Pat your chicken wings dry with paper towels. This step is crucial for achieving that coveted crispiness. Place the wings in a large mixing bowl.
  • Sprinkle the wings with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Toss well to ensure every piece is evenly coated. The garlic powder will infuse the wings with a deep, savory flavor that pairs beautifully with the Parmesan.
  • Line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup, then place a wire rack on top. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the rack, making sure they aren’t touching. This allows hot air to circulate around the wings, helping them crisp up evenly.
  • Bake the wings for about 35-40 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure both sides get golden and crispy. Keep an eye near the end to avoid overcooking.
  • While the wings are baking, mix the grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, and red pepper chili flakes in a bowl. As soon as the wings come out of the oven, toss them immediately in this mixture. The residual heat melts the cheese slightly, creating a delicious crust.
  • Serve your Crispy Baked Parmesan Chicken Wings hot, garnished with extra parsley if desired. They’re perfect on their own or paired with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Pat the wings dry thoroughly before baking to ensure maximum crispiness.
  • Do not overcrowd the baking rack to avoid steaming and soggy skin.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese instead of pre-shredded for better melting and richer flavor.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat in an oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
