- 1 pound fresh green beans trimmed and ready to fry

Start by washing and trimming your green beans. Remove the stem ends and set them aside.
In one bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In a second bowl, whisk the egg until it’s well beaten. In a third bowl, add the panko breadcrumbs.
In your deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot, heat about two inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a cooking thermometer to check the temperature.
Take a green bean and coat it in flour, shaking off any excess. Next, dip it into the egg mixture, allowing any extra liquid to drip off. Finally, roll it in the panko breadcrumbs until evenly coated. Repeat for all green beans.
Carefully place a few of the breaded green beans into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain.
