Chopping board and knife
- 8 oz spaghetti 230g
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- salt to taste
- 3 dashes ground black pepper
- red chili flakes to taste
- parsley leaves finely chopped, for garnishing
Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add the spaghetti. Cook according to package instructions, about 8-10 minutes, until al dente.
While the spaghetti cooks, heat the extra virgin olive oil and melted butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining the spaghetti using a colander. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic oil mixture. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to help the sauce adhere.
Season with salt, ground black pepper, and red chili flakes to taste. Toss everything together until the spaghetti is evenly coated.
Remove from heat. Transfer spaghetti to plates or serving bowl and garnish with finely chopped parsley. Serve immediately and enjoy!
