Equipment

  • Large Baking Dish
  • Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Cooking brush
  • Sharp Knife

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Salmon fillets preferably skin-on
  • 2 tablespoons Melted butter adds richness
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil or vegetable oil for a balanced fat content
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar packed for sweetness
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce low-sodium
  • 1 tablespoon Lime juice fresh is best
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce for that perfect spicy kick
  • 2 Garlic cloves minced for depth of flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger minced for a zesty note
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper freshly ground if possible
  • 2 Green onions sliced for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This high temperature will help achieve a nice caramelization on the salmon.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the melted butter, olive oil, brown sugar, soy sauce, lime juice, Sriracha, minced garlic, minced ginger, and black pepper. Whisk until the mixture is well blended and the sugar has dissolved.
  • Place the salmon fillets in a large baking dish. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well-coated. For best results, let the salmon marinate for at least 15-30 minutes. If you have more time, marinate up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  • Once marinated, place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through.
  • Remove the salmon from the oven, and sprinkle sliced green onions over the top for a fresh, vibrant finish. Serve immediately, drizzling any leftover marinade from the baking dish over the salmon for extra flavor.

Notes

  • Allow the salmon to marinate for at least 15 minutes to deepen the flavors.
  • Use skin-on fillets to keep the salmon moist and add flavor during baking.
  • Adjust the amount of Sriracha to control the spiciness of the dish.
  • Keep an eye on the salmon while baking, as oven times may vary based on fillet thickness.
  • Leftover salmon can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
