Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Medium Saucepan
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • 9x13 inch Baking Dish
  • Wax paper or parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 5 cups Fruity Pebbles cereal the star ingredient that gives these treats their flavor and color
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows for an extra marshmallowy goodness
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter adds richness and helps bind the ingredients together
  • 10 ounce large or mini marshmallows the main ingredient for the gooey texture
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips optional, for a sweet, creamy layer

Instructions

  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or line it with parchment paper to prepare for the treats.
  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add the 10-ounce bag of marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth, about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and immediately stir in 5 cups of Fruity Pebbles cereal until evenly coated. Add white chocolate chips if using, stirring gently.
  • Fold in 1 cup of mini marshmallows to add chewy texture throughout the treats.
  • Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish and press evenly using a spatula or wax paper, being careful not to press too hard.
  • Let the treats cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes until set, then cut into squares or rectangles.

Notes

  • Use plant-based butter and marshmallows for a vegan version.
  • Substitute Fruity Pebbles with other colorful cereals like Trix or Cap'n Crunch for different flavors.
  • Add a pinch of vanilla extract to the melted marshmallows for extra flavor.
