Container for storage
- 1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or chives finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves grated
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
Gather all your ingredients. Ensure the butter is at room temperature for easy mixing. Finely chop the herbs and grate the garlic cloves.
In a medium mixing bowl, add the softened unsalted butter. Use a fork or spatula to mix until creamy and smooth.
Add the grated garlic and finely chopped parsley or chives to the butter. Mix thoroughly to evenly distribute.
Sprinkle in the sea salt and mix once more. Taste and adjust the salt if preferred.
Transfer the garlic butter to an airtight container or jar. Optionally, shape into a log using parchment paper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to meld flavors.
- You can substitute salted butter but omit the sea salt to avoid over-salting.
- Try adding other herbs like thyme or rosemary for a different flavor twist.
- Garlic powder can be used instead of fresh garlic; use ½ teaspoon for 2 cloves.
- Store in the refrigerator up to two weeks or freeze for up to three months.
- Mix in grated Parmesan or Gouda cheese for added richness.
