Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Fork or spatula
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Container for storage

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley or chives finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves grated
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  • Gather all your ingredients. Ensure the butter is at room temperature for easy mixing. Finely chop the herbs and grate the garlic cloves.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, add the softened unsalted butter. Use a fork or spatula to mix until creamy and smooth.
  • Add the grated garlic and finely chopped parsley or chives to the butter. Mix thoroughly to evenly distribute.
  • Sprinkle in the sea salt and mix once more. Taste and adjust the salt if preferred.
  • Transfer the garlic butter to an airtight container or jar. Optionally, shape into a log using parchment paper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to meld flavors.

Notes

  • You can substitute salted butter but omit the sea salt to avoid over-salting.
  • Try adding other herbs like thyme or rosemary for a different flavor twist.
  • Garlic powder can be used instead of fresh garlic; use ½ teaspoon for 2 cloves.
  • Store in the refrigerator up to two weeks or freeze for up to three months.
  • Mix in grated Parmesan or Gouda cheese for added richness.
