Equipment

  • Medium Saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Mug

Ingredients

  • 4 cups unsweetened almond milk, rice milk, coconut milk beverage, or dairy milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon virgin coconut oil
  • 2 teaspoons ground turmeric
  • 0.75 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.125 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, pour in your choice of unsweetened almond milk, rice milk, coconut milk beverage, or dairy milk. Heat over medium heat until warm but not boiling.
  • Once the milk is warmed, add the honey or maple syrup, virgin coconut oil, ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground cardamom, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, freshly ground black pepper, and vanilla extract.
  • Using a whisk, stir the mixture well to ensure all the spices are combined and dissolve completely into the milk, creating a beautiful golden hue.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the drink to become extra aromatic.
  • If you prefer a smoother drink, pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into your mug to catch any undissolved spices.
  • Sip your warm Golden Milk slowly, savoring each delicious sip. Optionally, sprinkle a little extra cinnamon or turmeric on top for garnish.

Notes

  • Store leftover Golden Milk in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; stir well before reheating.
  • Enjoy Golden Milk cold by pouring it over ice for a refreshing twist.
  • Substitute sweeteners like agave syrup or coconut sugar if desired.
  • Fresh ginger can be used instead of ground ginger for a fresher flavor.
  • Omit coconut oil or replace it with a neutral oil if unavailable.
