- 2 cups oat flour or old-fashioned oats
- 1 ripe banana mashed
- 1/4 cup natural peanut butter without salt
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil melted, optional
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures your biscuits bake evenly and come out perfectly golden.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the oat flour and mashed banana. Stir until well incorporated. Then add the peanut butter and melted coconut oil (if using). Mix everything until a dough forms. It may be sticky, but that’s fine.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Dust with more oat flour if dough is sticking.
Use a cookie cutter to cut out fun shapes. Or slice the dough into squares or rectangles if you don't have a cutter.
Place the cutout biscuits onto a lined baking sheet. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until firm and golden brown. Watch carefully to avoid overbaking.
Let the biscuits cool completely on a wire rack. Once cooled, they are ready to serve to your dog.
- Use old-fashioned oats blended into a fine powder as a substitute for oat flour.
- Substitute peanut butter with almond butter or sunflower seed butter for allergies.
- Store biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
- Always cool biscuits completely before serving to prevent choking hazards.
- Mix in pureed pumpkin or finely grated carrots for added flavor and nutrition.
