- 1 1/2 cups milk or nondairy creamer almond, oat, coconut, or dairy
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa powder unsweetened
- 2 1/2 to 3 tablespoons sweetener honey, maple syrup, agave, or sugar substitute
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract pure
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons nut butter optional, almond or peanut
- 1 scoop protein powder optional
- 1 frozen banana optional, overripe
Gather all your ingredients as listed above. If using frozen banana, ensure it is peeled and chopped before freezing.
In your high-powered blender, combine the 1/2 large avocado, 1 1/2 cups of milk or nondairy creamer, and 1 1/2 tablespoons of cocoa powder.
Add your sweetener of choice (2 1/2 to 3 tablespoons), 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/8 teaspoon of salt.
