Measuring Spoons
- 4 medium russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or neutral-flavored oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
Start by washing and peeling the russet potatoes. Once peeled, chop them into evenly sized cubes, about 1/2-inch in thickness.
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the cubed potatoes and cook them for about 5-7 minutes, or until just tender but not fully cooked. Drain in a colander and let cool slightly.
Transfer the drained potatoes to a mixing bowl. Drizzle the olive oil over the potatoes. Add paprika, granulated garlic, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add seasoned potatoes in a single layer. Cook undisturbed for about 5 minutes until golden brown on the bottom.
Carefully flip the potatoes with a spatula. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until all sides are crispy and golden brown.
Remove from skillet and transfer to a serving dish. Serve hot alongside your favorite breakfast items.
- Spread potatoes in a single layer in the skillet for extra crispiness.
- Adjust spices to your personal taste preferences.
- Prep potatoes a day ahead and store in water in the fridge to save time.
