Small saucepan
- 1 pound salmon skin-on fillets
- 2 tsp avocado oil
- sea salt to taste
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp salted butter
- 2 tbsp honey
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to help caramelize the honey and create a beautiful glaze on the salmon.
Place the salmon fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle the avocado oil over the salmon and sprinkle with sea salt, garlic powder, and paprika. Rub the spices into the fish to ensure even distribution.
In a small saucepan, melt the salted butter over medium heat. Stir in the honey and mix well. Heat for about 1-2 minutes until bubbly but not boiling.
Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully spoon the hot honey glaze over the salmon fillets, coating them generously.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The glaze should be bubbling and slightly caramelized.
Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy the sweet and spicy flavors!
- Adjust the amount of honey to suit your sweetness preference.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze for extra heat.
- Do not overcook the salmon; it should remain moist and tender.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the salmon reaches 145°F (63°C) internal temperature.
