Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Storage container

Ingredients

  • 1 juicy clementine or tangerine peeled and broken into segments
  • 1 small beet peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup red berries such as raspberries or strawberries
  • 1 ripe banana preferably frozen
  • 2 tablespoons raw or roasted almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • pinch fine sea salt

Instructions

Hot Pink Beet Smoothie with Citrus Made Stepwise

  • Start by peeling and chopping your beet into small pieces to help it blend more easily.
  • Peel the clementine or tangerine and separate it into segments. Wash fresh berries thoroughly and remove any stems.
  • In your blender, combine the chopped beet, clementine segments, red berries, frozen banana, almond butter, chia seeds, almond milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt.
  • Blend the mixture on high until it reaches a smooth and creamy consistency. Add more almond milk if it’s too thick.
  • Taste your smoothie and adjust the sweetness or flavors as needed by adding more almond butter or citrus.
  • Pour your Hot Pink Beet Smoothie with Citrus into a glass and enjoy immediately. Garnish with extra berries or chia seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours; color may fade but flavor remains great.
  • Freeze individual portions for convenient smoothie prep; blend with extra milk when ready to serve.
  • Substitute almond butter with peanut or sunflower seed butter to accommodate allergies or preferences.
  • Add greens like spinach or kale to boost nutrition without changing flavor significantly.
  • Use any plant-based milk you prefer, such as oat or coconut milk, for different flavor profiles.
