Oven-safe dish
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 package taco seasoning 1-oz
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 package Velveeta cheese 16-oz, cubed
- 1 can refried beans 28-oz
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until fully browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the cooked beef. Stir in the salsa and let the mixture simmer for about 3-5 minutes until heated through.
In a microwave-safe bowl, add the cubed Velveeta cheese. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the cheese is melted and smooth.
In the skillet with the beef mixture, add the can of refried beans. Stir well to combine. Then, pour in the melted Velveeta cheese and mix until everything is evenly incorporated.
You can either serve the dip immediately, transferring it to a serving bowl, or for a baked version, pour it into an oven-safe dish and bake at 350°F for about 15-20 minutes until bubbly.
- Try adding a dollop of sour cream or cream cheese for an even creamier dip.
- Swap ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
- Make it vegetarian by omitting the meat and adding extra beans or vegetables.
- Add chopped jalapeños or hot salsa for a spicier kick.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
