For the Marinade and Beef
- 1 lb beef sirloin thinly sliced against the grain
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tbsp ginger minced
For the Rice Base
- 2 cups rice white or brown, cooked according to package instructions
For the Vegetables and Garnish
- 1 cup vegetables bell peppers, carrots, green onions, or your choice, sliced
- 1 tsp oil for sautéing vegetables
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish
- 1 tbsp green onions sliced, for garnish
- to taste gochujang optional, for sweet and spicy drizzle
Marinate the Beef
Thinly slice the beef sirloin against the grain.
In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and ginger.
Add the sliced beef to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours.
Assemble the Bowls
Place a scoop of rice in a bowl. Top with sautéed vegetables and cooked bulgogi beef.
Drizzle with gochujang if desired, and finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish.
