Equipment

  • food processor or mixing bowl and fork
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Spatula
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board

Ingredients

  • 180 g well-drained canned tuna
  • 250 g cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon mayonnaise or Greek yogurt (use mayonnaise or Greek yogurt to taste)
  • 30 g walnuts
  • green onion stalks to taste, finely chopped
  • a handful fresh parsley leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • black pepper optional, to taste

Instructions

  • Roughly chop the green onions and parsley if not using a food processor.
  • Place the walnuts, green onions, and parsley in a food processor and pulse a few seconds until finely chopped; alternatively, finely chop by hand.
  • Add the drained tuna, cream cheese, and mayonnaise or Greek yogurt to the processor and blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed; if mixing by hand, mash together until combined.
  • Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and black pepper to taste, then blend or stir briefly to incorporate and adjust consistency if needed.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl and serve with crackers or sourdough bread.

Notes

  • Use well-drained tuna to avoid a watery spread.
  • Swap mayonnaise for Greek yogurt for a tangier, lighter version.
  • Chop walnuts finely for a smoother texture.
  • Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
