Equipment

  • Large Bowl
  • Small Bowl
  • Fork
  • Grill or Skillet
  • Spatula
  • Meat Thermometer

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons parsley dried or fresh, chopped if fresh
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • slider buns and cheese slider-sized buns and cheese slices as desired

Instructions

  • Lightly beat the egg in a small bowl with a fork until the yolk breaks.
  • In a large bowl combine the ground turkey, beaten egg, panko breadcrumbs, onion powder, paprika, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  • Oil your hands lightly to prevent sticking and gently mix the ingredients by hand until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  • Divide the mixture into eight equal portions, shape into small round balls, then flatten each into a thin patty sized for sliders.
  • Cook the patties over medium heat on a preheated grill or in a skillet for about 3 minutes per side, until an instant-read thermometer registers 160°F (71°C) in the center.
  • If desired, top each hot patty with a slice of cheese to melt, then place on slider buns and serve.

Notes

  • Lightly oiling your hands helps keep the turkey burgers from sticking and adds juiciness.
  • Mix ingredients just until combined to avoid a crumbly texture.
  • Flatten patties thin since they will shrink while cooking.
  • Use sharp cheddar for extra flavor if you like.
  • Check internal temperature to ensure burgers reach 160°F (71°C).
