  • Medium Saucepan
  • Rubber spatula
  • Baking Sheet

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bag microwave popcorn natural flavored
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • patriotic sprinkles to taste

Instructions
 

  • Pop your bag of microwave popcorn according to the package instructions. Remove from microwave and pour into a large bowl, checking for unpopped kernels.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the 1/4 cup butter over low heat. Add 4 cups mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract.
  • Pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the popped popcorn. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold to coat all the popcorn evenly.
  • Sprinkle in your desired amount of patriotic sprinkles while the mixture is still warm. Gently fold to distribute evenly.
  • Spread the coated popcorn onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool. Once set, break into pieces and serve.

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days for best freshness.
  • Use light butter or sugar-free marshmallows to reduce calories.
  • Try adding edible glitter or themed candies to make it more festive.
