Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound extra firm tofu
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free option
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions
 

  • Remove tofu from packaging and drain water. Wrap in paper towels or a clean kitchen towel. Place a heavy object on top and press out excess moisture for 15-20 minutes.
  • Unwrap tofu and cut into bite-sized, uniform cubes for even cooking.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce and sesame oil. Add tofu cubes and gently toss to coat. Marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to an hour for deeper flavor.
  • Sprinkle cornstarch over marinated tofu and gently toss until all pieces are evenly coated.
  • Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place tofu cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove tofu from air fryer and let cool slightly. Serve over rice, in salads, or as a snack with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Pressing tofu thoroughly removes excess moisture for a better texture and crunch.
  • Marinate tofu longer for deeper flavor, up to one hour.
  • Reheat leftovers in the air fryer to maintain crispiness.
