Cuisine American
- 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup honey pure honey recommended
- 4 cloves garlic pressed
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper to taste.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, carefully place the chicken breasts in the skillet. Sear for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown. You may need to do this in batches if your skillet is not large enough.
Add the pressed garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, pour in the chicken broth and honey, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over the top. Allow it to simmer for another 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.
Remove the skillet from the heat. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve it over rice, drizzle with the remaining sauce, and enjoy.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken is cooked to 165°F for safe consumption.
- Substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar if desired.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat gently before serving.
