Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Garlic press
  • Wooden Spoon or Spatula
  • Meat Thermometer

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup honey pure honey recommended
  • 4 cloves garlic pressed
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, carefully place the chicken breasts in the skillet. Sear for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown. You may need to do this in batches if your skillet is not large enough.
  • Add the pressed garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, pour in the chicken broth and honey, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over the top. Allow it to simmer for another 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve it over rice, drizzle with the remaining sauce, and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken is cooked to 165°F for safe consumption.
  • Substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar if desired.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat gently before serving.
