- 1 tablespoon olive oil for sautéing the vegetables
- 1 white onion sliced
- 1 green bell pepper sliced
- 0.5 pound sirloin steak cooked and sliced thinly
- 8 eggs base of the omelette
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 0.5 teaspoon salt to enhance flavors
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper for a touch of spice
- 1 tomato diced
Start by gathering all your ingredients. Slice the onion and green bell pepper, and ensure your sirloin steak is cooked and thinly sliced. Dice the tomato and set everything aside.
In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the sliced onion and green bell pepper. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender and fragrant.
Add the sliced sirloin steak to the skillet and cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper to taste.
In a mixing bowl, crack the 8 eggs and whisk until well combined. You can add a pinch of salt if desired.
Pour the whisked eggs into the skillet over the sautéed vegetables and steak. Allow the eggs to cook undisturbed for about 3-4 minutes, or until the edges start to set.
Once the eggs are mostly set, place 4 slices of provolone cheese evenly over one half of the omelette. Let it melt for about a minute.
Carefully fold the other half of the omelette over the cheese. Cook for another minute, then transfer the omelette to a plate. Top with the diced tomato for a fresh finish. Slice and serve immediately!
- Use a non-stick skillet to make flipping and folding the omelette easier.
- For a fluffier omelette, add a splash of milk or cream to the eggs before whisking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheat gently.
- Substitute sirloin steak with mushrooms or mixed vegetables for a vegetarian version.
- Try different cheeses like mozzarella or cheddar for a flavor twist.
