For the Pizza Toast:

  • 6 slices soft sandwich bread
  • 6 tablespoons prepared pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 5 ounces mini pepperonis 1 package
  • chopped basil optional for garnish

Cooking Pizza Toast: The Process

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure even baking and golden color.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup or grease it if you don’t have parchment paper.
  • Spread about a tablespoon of pizza sauce evenly over each slice of sandwich bread, covering the entire surface.
  • Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce on each slice.
  • Distribute the mini pepperonis evenly on top of the cheese. Add extra toppings if desired.
  • Bake the assembled pizza toast in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread edges are crisp.
  • Remove from oven, sprinkle with chopped basil if desired, slice into squares, and serve hot.
