Ingredients
  

Chicken

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Marinade

  • 1 cup buttermilk or plain yogurt mixed with water

Coating

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste

Seasoning

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Frying

  • Vegetable oil for frying

Assembly

  • 4 pieces burger buns brioche or your favorite type
  • Mayonnaise or your favorite sauce
  • Pickles
  • Leafy greens like lettuce or shredded cabbage

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Marinate the Chicken - Tenderize the chicken breasts slightly and combine buttermilk with salt and pepper. Submerge chicken in the mixture and marinate in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Coating - In a mixing bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Step 3: Heat the Oil - In a skillet, pour enough vegetable oil to submerge the chicken halfway and heat to around 350°F (175°C).
  • Step 4: Dredge the Chicken - Remove chicken from marinade, allow excess to drip off, and dredge in the seasoned flour mixture until thoroughly coated.
  • Step 5: Fry the Chicken - Carefully place coated chicken in hot oil and fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Step 6: Assemble the Sandwich - Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, add pickles, fried chicken, and leafy greens. Top with the other half of the bun.

Notes

Marinate the chicken overnight for better flavor. Adjust cayenne pepper for spice level. For extra crispiness, double-dip the chicken before frying.
