Ingredients
- 1 cup candy melts any vibrant colors you like
- 4 cups Chex cereal a blend of corn and rice works best
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper to allow the muddy buddies to cool without sticking.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, add the candy melts. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each until completely melted and smooth. Avoid overheating to prevent candy from seizing.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the Chex cereal. Pour the melted candy over the cereal and gently fold with a spatula until evenly coated.
- Sprinkle the powdered sugar over the coated cereal and continue folding until all pieces are well coated to add sweetness and prevent clumping.
- Spread the mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet and allow it to cool completely so the candy coating sets and becomes crunchy.
- Once cooled, break the muddy buddies into bite-sized pieces. Serve or package as desired and enjoy!
