  • 0.5 cup regular olive oil adds richness without overpowering
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce for a savory depth
  • 1 ounce packet ranch seasoning/dressing mix the star of the show
  • 2 tablespoons dried dill weed for that fresh, herby flavor
  • 0.5 to 1 teaspoon table salt adjust to taste
  • 0.5 to 1 teaspoon garlic powder depending on your love for garlic
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder complements the ranch seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons hickory liquid smoke to add a smoky flavor (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder for a little kick
  • 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes adds heat and texture
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground chipotle powder for an extra smoky note

Instructions

Build Ranch Crackers with Dill Step by Step

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 250°F (120°C). This low and slow cooking method ensures that the crackers become perfectly crispy without burning.
  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. This will make it easier to remove the crackers once they’re done baking and will help with cleanup.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Cheez-It crackers, oyster crackers, Triscuit crackers, and Ritz crackers. Gently mix them together to evenly distribute the different types of crackers.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted unsalted butter, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, ranch seasoning mix, dill weed, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, hickory liquid smoke (if using), chili powder, crushed red pepper flakes, and chipotle powder. Stir until all the ingredients are well combined.
  • Pour the flavor mixture over the cracker blend. Using a spatula or your hands, gently toss the crackers until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture. Be careful not to break the crackers as you mix.
  • Spread the seasoned cracker mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even cooking. The crackers should become golden and crispy.
  • Once baked, remove the crackers from the oven and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet. This will help them crisp up even more. Once cooled, transfer them to a serving bowl or an airtight container.

Notes

  • Store crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks to maintain crispiness.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with coconut oil or margarine.
  • Adjust spices like chili powder and crushed red pepper flakes to control the heat level.
