Equipment

  • Crock Pot
  • Sharp Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs carrots cut into matchsticks
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp powdered ranch seasoning
  • 1 tsp powdered ranch seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions or chives for garnish

Instructions

  • Start by washing and peeling your carrots. Once clean, cut them into matchstick-sized pieces for even cooking. Dice the onion into small pieces to ensure it blends well with the carrots.
  • In your crock pot, add the matchstick carrots and diced onion. This combination will create a flavorful base for your dish.
  • Dot the top of the carrots and onion with 3 tablespoons of butter. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning over the mixture, ensuring even coverage. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Using a spoon, gently toss the carrots, onion, butter, and ranch seasoning until everything is well combined. This step is crucial for ensuring each bite is packed with flavor.
  • Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours. The carrots should be tender and infused with the ranch flavor.
  • Once cooked, give the carrots a gentle stir before serving. Top with chopped green onions or chives for a pop of color and added freshness.

Notes

  • Prep the carrots and onion ahead of time and store in the fridge for easy cooking later.
  • For a vegan version, substitute butter with plant-based butter or olive oil.
  • Add fresh herbs or warm spices seasonally for a unique twist.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
