Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Colander
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Dish
  • Spoon or spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 box penne pasta 16-ounce
  • 1 jar marinara sauce 24-ounce
  • 1 jar Rao's Alfredo 16-ounce
  • 2 1/4 cups freshly shredded mozzarella cheese
  • chopped fresh parsley optional

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

  • Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Once done, drain the pasta in a colander and set it aside.

Step 2: Combine the Sauces

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the marinara sauce and Alfredo sauce. Stir well to ensure the sauces are evenly mixed. This is where the magic happens—the combination of flavors starts to come together!

Step 3: Mix in the Pasta

  • Add the cooked penne pasta to the sauce mixture. Gently fold the pasta into the sauces, ensuring every piece is coated.

Step 4: Prepare for Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the pasta mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Step 5: Add the Cheese

  • Sprinkle the freshly shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the top of the pasta. Make sure to cover it well for that gooey, cheesy finish.

Step 6: Bake

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Step 7: Garnish and Serve

  • Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. If desired, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top for an added touch of freshness. Serve warm and enjoy the creamy, cheesy goodness of your Red and White Pasta!

Notes

  • Cook pasta al dente as it will continue cooking in the oven.
  • Add extra sauce or a splash of water if the pasta seems dry before baking.
  • Use freshly shredded mozzarella for the best melting and texture.
